Philebrity: GoPhillyGo’s Mobile Site: Better than Google Maps? – Clean Air Council’s multimodal trip planning site, GoPhillyGo.org, is now available on all mobile devices. Other site improvements include a sleek new look, point-to-point Indego bike share directions, and drag-and-drop locations.

Philly.com: SEPTA’s smart fare card gets wide release –  SEPTA has commenced a gradual roll out of the KeyCard availability at kiosks at all subway stations and major bus loops.

Philly.com: Uber gives subscriptions a test drive in Philadelphia –  Transportation Network Companies, like Uber and Lyft, heavily subsidize their drivers in order to keep their fares artificially low. A flat-fare subscription service could make the service affordable and profitable.

Philadelphia Magazine: SEPTA reveals new bus route plans for University City, Roosevelt Blvd. – Currently, the City is undergoing a multi-year study to make Roosevelt Boulevard safer and less congested. An enhanced, more frequent bus service, like the one proposed, can help alleviate congestion.

Salon: Ford CEO Mark Fields: Automakers will have to adapt or die over the next century – Ford is looking beyond car manufacturing to cash in on transportation services like mass transit, ride hailing, ride sharing, and bike sharing.

Associated Press News: 2016 traffic deaths jump to highest level in nearly a decade –  The National Safety Council, a nonprofit promoting health and safety, found that traffic fatalities rose 6% in 2016, reaching an estimated 40,200 deaths.

CityLab: Young millennials take the award for ‘Worst-Behaved U.S. Drivers’ –  While  88% of motorists aged 19 to 24 have recently sped, texted, or blown a red light, well over 50% of drivers in every age group have committed the same dangerous offenses in the last 30 days.
