Washington Post: Study finds more evidence for ‘walking while black’ –  The University of Nevada, Las Vegas found that  the average number of vehicles in a wealthier neighborhood to pass by a black pedestrian who was already in the crosswalk was at least seven times higher compared with a white pedestrian.

Philly.com: Ride-hailing apps are killing taxis. Is public transit next? –  While Uber and Lyft have seen an explosive increase in their passenger trips, transit ridership fell in 24 out of 30 major U.S. cities in 2016. Even though there is very little data on how much business Transportation Network Companies are taking from transit, there is still a feeling of correlation.

Digital Trends: Hyperloop Transportation Technologies is building a full size hyperloop passenger capsule – Elon Musk has some competition. Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has announced that it’s starting construction on its passenger capsule in France. The capsule will be about 100 feet long, seat between 28 and 40 people and travel at more than 700 miles per hour.
