Philadelphia Magazine: Fatal hit and runs up 55% this year – While the mandatory minimum sentence for fleeing the scene of a fatal accident was raised from one to three years, fatal and nonfatal hit runs are disturbingly on the rise in Philadelphia.

PlanPhilly: U.S. DOT to cities: new highway projects can mend old scars – U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx’s Every Place Counts Design Challenge offers cities with inner city highways free two-day planning charrettes run by DOT planners. Philadelphia’s application focuses on creating better connections between Chinatown, which is split by the Vine Street Expressway.

Philly.com: SEPTA’s new fare card gets rolled out – On Monday, June 13, 10,000 SEPTA riders will be able to go tokenless. SEPTA Key will be available on a first come, first served basis at 6 stops on the Market Frankford Line and 6 stops on the Broad Street Line.
