Los Angeles Times: Waze tests carpooling in Bay Area – Waze, a Google-owned company, is best known for its crowdsourcing mapping app that warns other drivers of traffic congestion and accidents. Unlike commercial carpooling services, like UberPool and Lyft, Waze carpool drivers will share their commute to work and will only earn back the cost of gas for the trip.
