Featuring a panel of experts representing the fields of environmental stewardship, public policy, and goverment regulation, and moderated by Clean Air Council Executive Director, Joe Minott, the Council co-hosted a public forum on drilling for natural gas in the Marcellus Shale at the Academy of Natural Sciences on June 8. With almost 200 people in attendance, the forum covered a wide range of topics including air and water pollution, economics, and public health related issues.
In addition to Joe Minott, the speakers included Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Michael Krancer, State Representative Michael Sturla, Dr. David Velinsky from the Academy of Natural Sciences, and Richard Pepino from the University of Pennsylvania's Center for Excellence in Environmental Toxicology. The forum was co-hosted by the Academy of Natural Sciences and the Community Action Forum on Marcellus Shale Gas.
