Council Seeks Tighter Regulations for Air Pollution from Natural Gas Operations
October 16, 2012 - Yesterday the Clean Air Council and other groups petitioned the District of Columbia District Court for review of EPA's promulgation the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants portion of the Oil and Gas Air Pollution Standards. These rules are found at 40 C.F.R., Part 63 Subpart HH (Oil and Natural Gas Production) and Subpart HHH (Natural Gas Transmission and Storage). The Petition for Review is attached below.
The Council and other groups also filed another Petition before the same Court for review of the New Source Performance Standards portion of the Oil and Gas Air Pollution Standards. These rules are found at 40 C.F.R. Part 60.
Stay tuned for updates on these cases. The Council will be submitted a brief, as required by the Court, explaining why the rules should be stronger.
