Q: Why did the date change this year?
A: In the past, the Run for Clean Air was the Saturday before Earth Day. This year, Fairmount Park is planning to host a big event and that event’s build impacts the original Run date, so we moved it to the Sunday before (April 9th).

Q: Why is one of the t-shirt options “I don’t need a shirt”?
A: Although Run shirts are awesome, and our Run shirts are particularly cool, they still cost money to produce. If you don’t actually need or want another t-shirt, we can take that into account and order less shirts! That will save us money and help the event further Clean Air Council’s work!

Q: What if I can’t make it to packet pickup?
A: 1) You can designate someone else to pick up your packet (just make sure they know your Bib # and t-shirt size).
or 2) You can pick up your bib/bag/shirt at the race at 7:00 am. However, if lines are long you may not make it to the start of your race at 7:30 (10K or 7:45 5K and Walk) so we HIGHLY recommend picking up before race day.

Q: When will I find out my bib #?
A: All bib numbers will be assigned by Tuesday, April 4. You’ll receive an email with that information. Bib numbers will also be posted at packet pick up sites.

Q: Can I sign up for the race at packet pick-up?
A: YES! And you can take home your bib/shirt right then and there. BOOM!

Q:I’m not sure I can run the 10K can I switch to the 5K?
A:Yes, email events@cleanair.org to switch.

Q: Do you issue refunds?
A: Sorry, we have a no refund policy. If you cannot make the race this year, email events@cleanair.org and we will defer your registration to next year.

TIMING

The Run for Clean Air will be timed by Lin-Mark Sports, Inc. of Mantua, NJ utilizing the Chronotrack Timing System. The disposable Chronotrack B-tag will be attached to your race bib # and will remain there for the entire event.

Overall winners are based on gun time. All other awards are based on chip time. Chip time is recorded by an electronic chip that is attached to a runner’s bib. Your chip records the time at which you cross the start line, the finish line and several split times in between. Chip time is often shorter than gun time because chip time begins when a runner crosses the start line while gun time starts when the gun is fired; many runners don’t cross the start line until several minutes after their official gun time.
