SUMMARY:2026 Cobbs Creek Celebrate Trails Day
DESCRIPTION:Cobbs Creek Celebrate Trails Day will celebrate its sixth year running on Saturday\, April 25th 2026 from 10am-2pm at the playground/park area at Thomas Ave & Cobbs Creek Parkway just north of Whitby Ave. \n   \nBrought to you by Clean Air Council and the Cobbs Creek Watershed Coalition\, this free event will kick off at 9:30am with a WeWalk to explore the paved Cobbs Creek Trail. Beginning at 10:00am attendees can interact with over two dozen exhibitors offering family friendly games\, resources\, information\, education\, and activities for residents to connect with including sharing ideas for the upcoming Little Nature Playgrounds on Cobbs Creek Trail.  The event will conclude with a raffle and a chance to win prizes. Thanks to Healing Through The Land for providing snacks and refreshments for participants. \nThe day’s schedule is filled with free activities including horseback riding\, a birding walk\, fishing\, book giveaway\, and more. See the complete event schedule below\, help spread the word to friends\, family\, and neighbors to come out and enjoy Cobbs Creek Park together. Stay updated by following the Cobbs Creek Watershed Coalition Facebook and Instagram pages. \n     \n9:30am-10:30am Trail Walk with WeWalkPHL: Join this free walking group that meets weekly at Cobbs Creek Park and offers tiered walking options. Meet at Cobbs Creek Parkway and Thomas Ave. We Walk PHL is a partnership between Fairmount Park Conservancy\, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health\, and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. The spring walking season kicks off in May at 30 locations across the city.\n10:00am-2:00pm Little Nature Playground Workshop: Tiny WPA and Amber Art and Design will be on site to gain community input and inspiration for three new play and learning spaces for children and caretakers at safe crossing entrances to Cobbs Creek Park with the goal of inviting more families into the park.\n10:30am-11:00am Ants on a Log: Bring children of all ages to enjoy an energetic\, fun\, and family-friendly musical performance by local acoustic duo\, Ants on a Log.\n11:00am-1:00pm Fishing with Land Health Institute: LandHealth Institute will provide free fishing instruction including fishing poles and gear to those interested in fishing on Cobbs Creek. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Fishing rods and bait are provided free of charge!\n11:00am-1:00pm Horseback Riding with PURA: Erin Brown\, the concrete cowgirl\, will lead youth and adults on a short horseback ride around the park.\n12:00pm-1:00pm Audubon Bird Walk: Join Audubon Mid-atlantic for a bird walk in Cobbs Creek Park. Attendees will learn how to find birds and participate in community science through the iNaturalist City Nature Challenge. Don’t forget to stop by the Audubon table to pick up free seeds and learn more about their work!\n1:30pm Raffle bag giveaway: Visit Clean Air Council’s exhibitor tent to sign up to win bike helmets\, t-shirts and more! \n\nThe Council is looking for volunteers at the beginning and end of the event to help exhibitors unload and load their vehicles and generally help around the event site. SUMMARY:Clean Air Council Art Show: Reflections on our Endangered Environment
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Clean Air Council’s first-ever environmentally themed art exhibit. Proceeds support our work to ensure a healthy environment. \nReflections on our Endangered Environment features a selection of local artists taking an aesthetic approach to depict environmental challenges. There will also be a silent auction\, a light program\, appetizers\, and complimentary beer and wine. The show is curated by Clean Air Council Board Member Cynthia Haveson Veloric\, PhD\, art historian and adjunct professor at Drexel University. Works in different media and scale will be available for sale\, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Council. \nGet Your Tickets Now \nTickets are $75 each plus Eventbrite’s processing fees. The ticket price and proceeds from the silent auction at the event support Clean Air Council\, a 501(c)3 non-profit. Additional donations can be made when registering for the event or at the art show.
