P’unk Avenue is the Clean Air Commute Employer of the Year 2020

Congratulations to P’unk Avenue, the Clean Air Commute Employer of 2020! P’unk Ave is a design studio located in South Philadelphia that specializes in branding and website design. P’unk Ave is the Clean Air Commute Employer of the Year because of their commitment to supporting sustainable transportation in the workplace, especially bike commuting.

 

One of the important ways P’unk Ave creates a bike-friendly workplace is by having a secure bike garage on the first floor of their offices, which are two converted Philadelphia row houses that have been connected in their renovation. The automatic garage door and vertical hooks makes bike parking a breeze. P’unk Ave employees also have access to bike maintenance tools for any on-the-fly fixes they may need. Since the P’unk Ave office used to be rowhomes, employees also have access to full bathroom facilities. 

 

Many of the staff at P’unk Ave participated in Love to Ride, and participation was encouraged by management. The owner of the company encouraged employees to ride during the Cycle September by posting encouraging messages on the company Slack channel. There is a strong cycling culture at the P’unk Ave offices. Staff often go for bike rides together on their lunch breaks or afterwork. There’s almost always an extra bike at the office in case someone wants to come along who didn’t ride in that day. 

 

Located in the East Passyunk section of South Philadelphia, P’unk Ave is intentionally located in a walkable and bikeable neighborhood, allowing for many employees to have carbon neutral commutes. Those employees that do not walk or bike to work take SEPTA, PATCO, and New Jersey Transit. The P’unk Ave offices are located near the Broad Street Subway line and SEPTA bus routes 45, 47, and 64.
