Philly.com: Pedestrian deaths spiked in 2016, distraction cited –  Not only are pedestrian deaths the highest in more than two decades, but pedestrian deaths are outpacing fatalities overall.

Metro: Trump’s budget ‘blueprint’ is bad news for bicyclists  – If passed, TIGER grants will be eliminated, meaning there will be less pedestrian and bicycle-friendly projects, like the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk.

Wired: Uber Redeploys Its Self-Driving Cars After a Wreck in Arizona –  Uber must be breathing a sigh of relief that no one was hurt in the accident and that the robocar was not at fault.

The Atlantic: Big in Bolivia: Zebras in the Streets – In La Paz, zebras help encourage safe and humane traffic behavior by dancing, miming comically, and helping pedestrians cross the street.

Curbed: Bartram’s Mile to open on Earth Day, April 22  – Bartram’s Mile, a one-mile long shared-use path, will span from from Grays Ferry Avenue to 56th Street.
