PlanPhilly: Councilman Domb’s modest proposal: ban on-street parking in Center City– Congestion in Center City is getting worse, and Councilman Alan Domb is advocating for the removal of street parking on selected Center City streets to make room for ride hailing and delivery vehicles. More people and things are being delivered to downtown residences and businesses than ever before, and we are going to need to get creative to manage it.

 

Mobility Lab: Is microtransit actually focused on providing “first mile” to transit? – Advocates of on demand microtransit tout its ability to connect people to efficient mass transit through first and last mile connection services. Some companies are succeeding in capturing more choice riders for transit, while others seem to tout these services as a greenwashing technique.
