PhillyVoice: Tolls on the Pennsylvania Turnpike to increase by 5% in 2024 – On Sunday, January 7, 2024, tolls on the Pennsylvania Turnpike will increase by 5% and common passenger vehicles can expect to pay $1.80 more. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is required to meet its legally mandated obligation to provide supplemental funding to PennDOT for PA transit systems.
Metro Philadelphia: New SEPTA Regional Rail schedules coming Sunday – Effective Sunday, January 7, 2024, SEPTA’s Regional Rail is altering its schedules and will have new timetables. Significant changes will occur on the Chestnut Hill East, Wilmington/Newark, and Warminster lines. Other lines will also experience changes and a full list of the schedule changes can be found at septa.org.
PhillyVoice: Chestnut Street bridge over I-95 scheduled to close Jan. 15 ahead of demolition – PennDOT’s officials announced that the Chestnut Street bridge over I-95, which connects with the Market Street bridge will be closed January 15th for demolition along with the remains of the Walnut Street bridge. This will make room for the planned I-95 cap park at Penn’s Landing. This is a $328.9 million project by PennDOT and Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, and is scheduled for completion in 2029.
