Philly Voice: A new study finds traffic congestion in Philly is ranked among the worst in the world. In 2020 during the pandemic, drivers in Philadelphia lost 94 hours in traffic. 

The Hill: The Biden Administration is expected to announce Transportation infrastructure plans soon. Recently confirmed Transportation Secretary Pet Buttigieg says info on infrastructure plans will be released in “short-order” well ahead of the September 30 deadline.  

Kyw: Indego, Philadelphia’s bike-share program, saw a shift in bike use over the past year. Less people used bike share for commuting as jobs went virtual, but more used the program for recreation. 

The Inquirer: Mayor Barbarann Keffer of Upper Darby wants to make the town cleaner, greener, and more walkable. Keffer believes making policies that are in favor of pedestrians, parks, and preservation will improve walkability,  increase accessibility to parks, and create health and wellness benefits for residents. 

Philadelphia City Life: Philly has seen a huge spike in the number of new cyclists since the pandemic began. Trails were packed, and purchases of bikes and accessories rose 75 percent nationally in April 2020.
