These bus-only lanes are painted in red and aim to reduce traffic congestion and allow transit riders to get to their destination faster.
The Guardian: Cities Are Banning New Gas Stations. More Should Join Them – Cities and countries across the world are mandating an end to new gas car sales. Cities are also banning new gas stations due to climate change. Switching to electric vehicles is better for the environment and the Biden administration announced plans to make EV stations more accessible across the country.
New York Times: A Bicycle Built For Transporting Cargo Takes Off – Cargo bikes are climate friendly and becoming more popular across the globe as riders are able to transport kids, groceries, and a lot more. In the Netherlands, cargo bikes are widely used by many people for work and other tasks.
BillyPenn: SEPTA Has Been Double Charging Regional Rail Riders’ Key Cards, With 1,600 Hit By ‘Bug’ Before A Fix – Many of SEPTA’s Regional Rail Users were double charged for trips into Center City due to a software bug. About 1,600 customers were affected, but the transit agency has put a software fix in place and started issuing refunds.
Metro Philadelphia: Shuttle Buses Replacing Trains On Fox Chase Line – Starting Tuesday, July 5th through July 29th SEPTA’s Fox Chase Regional Line will be replaced by shuttle buses. This is due to a weeks-long construction project between Wayne Junction and Fox Chase Station to replace track infrastructure.
