The Inquirer: There is growing support for parking reforms as parking limits the land available for housing, parks, and other beneficial things to residents. After the proposal to lower the city’s parking tax in Philadelphia failed, cities across the country are rethinking parking altogether.
PlanPhilly: SEPTA and the City of Philadelphia launched a challenge called “Augmenting Transit with Augmented Reality.” It seeks ideas for new ways to use technology to enhance services for people with disabilities to make it easier to use mass transit.
NextCity: Investing and developing public transportation in cities across the country can create great benefits for the job market. Better transportation services can merge labor demand with labor supply.
Khon2: Hawaii has seen a decline in pedestrian fatalities due to the state’s effort in building more raised crosswalks. Improving pedestrian infrastructure can improve pedestrian safety.
Mother Jones: Public transportation is the backbone of cities across the world. Frequent, reliable, and efficient transportation service is important, thus it is recommended that transit should be funded with tax dollars similarly to libraries and public schools.
