Feet First Philly launched the 5th round of its Public Space Enhancement Mini-grant Program. Applications are due on October 10th at 11:59 PM. wfaa.com: Los Angeles mayor says next summer Olympics will be ‘no-car games’ – The 2024 Summer Olympic games in Paris ended a few days ago, and eyes are now set on the 2028 games in Los Angeles which will be a ‘no-car games’. The Mayor of Los Angeles announced that public transportation will be the only way to access the Los Angeles Olympic venues in 2028. This will be the third time Los Angeles will host the Olympics.
PhillyVoice: SEPTA says parking fees at Regional Rail lots and garages will be phased in starting Sept. 23 – Between September 23rd to November 15th SEPTA will reinstate parking fees at its 96 surface lots and three garages. This will end the 4 year break and Regional Rail riders will have to start paying for parking again. Parking will now cost $4 per day and will be free on weekends and major holidays.
The Inquirer: Tenth Presbyterian Church gives up bike lane parking permits – After 18 Sundays of protest and intense pressure from bike safety advocates, the Tenth Presbyterian will give up their parking permits which allowed them to park in nearby bike lanes during service hours. This will now allow bike lanes near the church to be free for cyclists during services. The church requested new parking permits from the city that do not include bike lanes.
