Who Runs for Clean Air? Meet Freddy

Freddy Druding is an avid runner, environmentalist, and looking to beat the bus for the third time on March 22.

Why our race? What makes the Run for Clean Air stand out from other races?
This will be my 3rd time participating in the Run for Clean Air Race the Bus Challenge. Run for Clean Air stands out for me because supporting environmental causes is very important to me, so as a runner, this race is a natural fit.
On April 9th, I’ll be doing the Run for Clean Air 5K. I would have loved to do the PHLY 10K, but I have another run later that morning. This  answers your question, “How do you find the time to participate in so many running events?!”
Basically, it’s just my desire and proper planning and scheduling.

Where’s your favorite place to run in Philadelphia?
My favorite place to run in Philly is Kelly Drive, regardless of how many times I have, its always enjoyable.

Why “Race the Bus“?
Besides the aforementioned, regarding my support of the Clean Air Council, pitting Philadelphia Runners vs. A Septa Bus, to me, just has a totally Philly vibe.

What’s your strategy to beat the bus?
Simple, be safe and run as fast as I can and hopefully make it 3-0 vs. the bus this Wednesday. So keep up the good work of your organization and see you then!

Go Freddy! We’ll be cheering for you!
