Developers want to turn the former Homer City coal plant into a massive AI data center powered by what could become the nation’s largest proposed fracked-gas power plant. With support from When Justice, Clean Air Council is appealing the project’s air permit, arguing that regulators failed to fully evaluate the health and environmental impacts on nearby communities.

Amazon’s proposed data center in Bucks County could bring more than 350 gas-powered generators to the region. We explore Pennsylvania’s choices: meet the growing energy demand with more pollution or invest in cleaner energy.
