Feet First Philly Updates: New Logo, Pedestrian Advocacy Guide, and Mini Grant Program
Feet First Philly, Philadelphia’s pedestrian advocacy group sponsored by Clean Air Council, has three exciting new updates:
Pedestrian Advocacy Guide
Feet First Philly recently released a Pedestrian Advocacy Guide for the city of Philadelphia. This guide connects residents and community groups to existing city resources in order to address common pedestrian issues. Individuals and civic organizations can use this guide to identify risks pedestrians face in their own neighborhoods and find solutions to address those issues. This guide provides information about sidewalks, road conditions, parking, driver behavior, and quality of life issues that impact pedestrians. The guide is meant to help existing and aspiring pedestrian advocates more easily access the city’s resources and use them to their full capacity.

Public Space Enhancements RFP grant
Feet First Philly is partnering with the Department of Public Health to provide funding for mini-grants to create public space amenities, particularly in underserved communities. The mini-grants, between $500 and $2000, will be awarded to address the financial and technical barriers that organizations face when creating safe public space enhancements. Awardees can use grant money to support public space projects including educational materials, physical materials, event costs, insurance, stipends, staff time, or other needs. Examples of public space projects include but are not limited to parklets, pedestrian plazas, temporary demonstrations, daylighting, and art installations.
