“The Hub” is a weekly round-up of transportation related news in the Philadelphia area and beyond. Check back weekly to keep up-to-date on the issues Clean Air Council’s transportation staff finds important.

PlanPhilly: Philly testing bus-only lanes in Center City To speed up transit commute, SEPTA and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation are starting a project to create “twin bus-only lanes along Market Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Center City.” The project is expected to take a month to complete.

The Inquirer: Pennsylvania’s and New Jersey’s chunk of the infrastructure billThe $1 trillion infrastructure package passed on Tuesday in a bipartisan vote, but the money will be distributed based on funding formulas. Different groups in PA and N.J are already dreaming about the different projects the region could work on using its chunk of the bill.

Metro: Battery-electric Buses added to Delaware Transit Delaware Transit Corp added four GILLIG battery-electric buses to their growing electric bus fleet. They are confident that these buses will improve service and help with their climate goals.
