PlanPhilly: Do SEPTA signs confuse you? Help is on the waySEPTA’s new general manager Leslie Richards rides SEPTA all over the region and finds that fellow riders often need directions that existing signs do not give clearly. Richards plans to redesign SEPTA’s signage to make it accurate, up to date, and easy to understand.

 

CityLab: Ride-Hailing Isn’t Really Green A new study from the Union of Concerned Scientists found that ride-hailing produces 69% more carbon emissions than the modes it replaces, owing in part to ride-hailing drivers spending 40% of their time on the road with no passengers in the car. The average unpooled uber or lyft ride generates 47% more emissions than the same private vehicle trip. Mass transit and active transportation continue to be the least polluting ways to get around.
