The Guardian: – Benefits of cycling and walking ‘outweigh air pollution risk’ in cities – An international team of researchers found that the health benefits of cycling and walking outweigh the harm from inhaling air pollution in most cities. The researchers acknowledge that their results are not an argument for inaction in combating pollution, but rather support for investment in getting people out of their cars and on their feet or bikes.

City Lab: The U.S. DOT’s Newest Plan to Tackle Transportation Barriers  – The U.S. Departmet of Transportation’s Every Place Counts Design Challenge aims to tackle the U.S.’s mid-century infrastructure expansion legacy of displacement by engaging local elected officials, residents and urban planners to identify and help find solutions to barriers created by existing transportation infrastructure.
