The Inquirer: SEPTA’s bus system overhaul is finished – but don’t expect big changes until late next year  – After two years of deliberations SEPTA finished its first comprehensive redesign of its bus network.  The Bus Revolution will go to SEPTA’s board on December 21 for approval. This bus plan aims to be in effect by late summer of 2024 with a reduction in the number of bus routes from 125 to 106.

PhillyVoice: Speed limit on Kelly Drive lowered to 25mph in hopes of reducing crashesKelly Drive is a part of Philadelphia’s Vision Zero High Injury Network, where 12% of the streets account for 80% of traffic deaths and serious injuries. The speed limit on Kelly Drive was reduced from 35mph to 25mph to improve safety.  PennDOT and the city’s Office of Transportation, Infrastructure, and Sustainability are testing reduced speed limits along five other corridors in Philadelphia.

The Inquirer: Speed Cameras will stay on Roosevelt Boulevard and be expanded to other parts of the city under Pa. billHouse Bill 1284, which would authorize permanent speed enforcement cameras on Roosevelt Boulevard, was approved by the PA Senate on Tuesday, clearing the way for the final passage of the speed-camera bill. This legislation also allows Philadelphia to add speed-enforcement cameras on five more dangerous corridors. It will also allow speed cameras to be permanent in highway work zones, and there will be a test at five school zones in the city. Crashes on Roosevelt Boulevard have declined since the trial of the speed cameras.
