Clean Air Council Joins 14 Other Orgs In Opposition Of Parking Tax Cut
Clean Air Council delivered testimony today at a City Council hearing on Bill (#210442) which would give wealthy parking garage executives a $130 million tax break. Now is not the time for City Council to give away revenue that the City desperately needs in order to encourage more driving in Philadelphia. Instead, we should be supporting the return to transit, bicycling and walking infrastructure, and other programs that our neighborhoods need in the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. A full vote is expected this Thursday. Read our letter to City Council, signed by Clean Air Council and 14 other local organizations. Then, take this action and tell City Council not to slash the parking tax when Philly should be funding sidewalks, transit, schools, and neighborhoods.
